Nicolas Bourret

Nicolas Bourret was a Partner with Bain & Company, which in joined in 2004 inParis. He has worked in many geographies across the world and has been living inNorth America for the past 10 years. During his time with Bain, he worked closelywith leading Private Equity firms on 60+ acquisitions. He supported 10 middlemarket portfolio companies working closely with management and financialsponsors to prioritize growth opportunities, build detailed actions plans andsupport implementation including M&A. Outside of his work in the Private Equityspace, he has led several multi-year full potential programs with large Energy andIndustrials clients where he brought a strong focus on the few critical valuedrivers, drove a wide range of performance improvement actions and invested indeveloping the talent base.

Why is sustainability in aviation so important to you?

‍I am both an aviation enthusiast and an engineer, so I am very excited at the opportunity to contribute transitioning aviation into a new technology era. I am fascinated by new technologies under development across the full value chain: aircrafts, airlines, fuels or systems. It is incredibly exciting to be able to shape what the future of the industry will look like.

What excites you about the SkiesFifty mission?

Moving mountains. The transition we’re talking about is a massive undertaking that requires bringing multiple players together across the value chain. This will take time, energy, some luck and the contribution of very talented people.

How do you balance life with work?

I am very diligent about carving out and protecting time for sport and outdoor activities. I got back into cycling a few years ago and try to ride several times a week. I am also a car enthusiast and never lose an opportunity to go to a track for a few hot laps!
