Mark started his career with KPMG in the Auditing team, however he quickly transitioned to the Advisory team where there was a wider and more interesting remit - from advising regulators on Sharia finance, to restructuring distressed companies with administrators, and developing strategies to reduce automobile usage.
Since leaving KPMG, Mark has continued to follow his passions and interests at a boutique advisory firm. He has led research and due diligence programs for long distance sub-sea cabling, offshore wind development, autonomous vehicles and a set of breakthrough decarbonisation technologies.
To SkiesFifty, Mark brings extensive investment research, due diligence and financing experience and a keen interest in aviation and energy transition and the net-zero challenge.
As Senior Analyst, Mark utilises his considerable experience to support the team by researching industry trends, identifying potential investments and developing deal strategies.
The net-zero challenge is one of the most difficult problems facing the world, and particularly aviation. As aviation provides critical connections for so many people, including myself, the journey to sustainability is of the utmost importance.
The dual mission, to fundamentally deliver a positive impact on sustainability and aviation, while still generating significant returns, is certainly an exciting challenge! Alongside this, being able to work with the incredible, multi-disciplinary team.
I like to spend time watching movies with my wife, as well as cooking and reading. We both like to travel to new places, and family is important so we try to spend time with our families when we can. I am also passionate about technology, and can often be found tinkering with my PC and writing code on the weekend.
My formative years were when the ‘indie sleaze’ movement was at its peak, so bands from the US like The Strokes, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, LCD Soundsystem, and from the UK, Foals, The Maccabees and The Libertines. The documentary ‘Meet Me In The Bathroom’ is a fantastic look at the New York part of this scene, and well worth checking out!
